Checking out the K2

Upgraded to WP 2 – I’m figuring that I won’t see too many issues since I was running a pretty basic install.
And I’m trying out K2 – nice job Michael and Chris. I know it’s an included style, but damn if “vader” doesn’t look cool.

Media Section

Added a new section/page: media. For now, I’m going to try and track the movies I’ve seen (with one-liner reviews) and the ones I want to see. Probably will put the Delicious Library stuff here, and might add similar stuff about books.

Changes

Going to be trying some things with styles, etc… Things may be changing at any moment. For now I’m leaving it on this (Hiperminimalist) quite plain theme.
Update: This (Pool) might be a good one to keep for a bit.

WP 1.5

WordPress 1.5 is just beautiful. Templates work wonderfully, the way they should. Much nicer modular interface. The craziest part is the new Pages capability, and the custom fields and templates that go along with them. WordPress has really got a strong case for a general purpose CMS now…

Site Changes

Just quickly – the web and database now lives on cardhu, the FreeBSD box, along with qmail and Courier – no longer on oban, the Win2k box. As part of this whole hullaballoo, I moved to php5, and new versions of SquirrelMail and Gallery (drawn from ports – that and cvsup make FreeBSD ROCK.)
